WHO WE ARE
Chihuahua Rescue and Referral (CRandR) is a 100% volunteer organization dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and re-homing of Chihuahuas and Chihuahua mixes in the U.S. Pacific Northwest and British Columbia, Canada. We are also committed to educating the public about the importance of ethical and responsible pet ownership.
We do not house our dogs in a shelter. All of our dogs are cared for in foster homes and are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and any other veterinary necessities taken care of before being placed in a new home.
But, we couldn’t do it without your support! We need volunteers in all areas, but primarily as fosters, transporters and home visitors. We also need volunteers who are interested in fundraising and publicity. If you are interested in any of these areas and feel that you have something to contribute, please email gloria@wavecable.com and consider volunteering with us. We welcome anyone who can give even a small amount of time to assist in any area.
Although many of us have worked together in rescue for years, we formally came together in July 2005 as Chihuahua Rescue and Referral. Since that time, we have rescued over 450 dogs and gained Washington State non-profit status with Federal 501(c)(3) status also. We are a BCSPCA approved rescue group and work in cooperation with US and Canadian Chihuahua Rescue and Transport.
