WHO WE ARE
Chihuahua Rescue and Referral (CRandR) is a 100% volunteer organization dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and re-homing of Chihuahuas and Chihuahua mixes in WASHINGTON STATE. We are also committed to educating the public about the importance of ethical and responsible pet ownership.
We do not house our dogs in a shelter. All of our dogs are cared for in foster homes and are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and any other veterinary necessities taken care of, before being placed in a new home.
But, we couldn’t do it without your support! We need volunteers to foster, transporters and home visitors. We also need volunteers who are interested in fundraising and publicity. If you are interested in any of these areas and feel that you have something to contribute, please email us (click here) and consider volunteering with us. We welcome anyone who can give even a small amount of time to assist in any area.
Although many of us have worked together in rescue for years, we formally came together in July 2005 as Chihuahua Rescue and Referral. Since that time, we have rescued over 700 dogs and gained Washington State non-profit and Federal IRS 501(c)(3) status.
